Moore Google
Google's free online calendar would be very useful across the 3 branches to track all the important dates, meetings, events, activities which could email or sms reminders to the supervisors to promote to the staff.

I found this mashup titled Kangaroo Point which I think is very interesting and alot of thought as gone into it.

The mashed-up contains the following:
- Estate map of the Pineapple Estate, Kangaroo Point, Brisbane, Queensland
- Illustrated front cover from The Queenslander, 8 November 1928

Test Drive #1 part B - Online applications and tools
This is amazing that all this software is free on the web. Google Docs is going to be very useful in the workplace for updating procedure manuals instead of emailing all different versions back and forth and waiting for each person to do their updating it can all be done at once.
Web conferencing would be very useful when meetings need to be held between branches therefore reducing travel time.
Myplick will be very in helping the clients/students who need to email large presentations.

Folksonomies & Tagging
I think it would be a wonderful idea to have a shared bookmark site, as we email each other a lot of useful sites to show clients but these sites are not accessible from our web page. An example would be there is a lot of sites teaching people have to use various IT programs/software which are self based programs.
LibraryThing
http://www.librarything.com/home/selinal
I think LibraryThing would be very useful to have for online bookclubs. As you can talk in the group forum, search all group members' libraries at once.
With Talk, the forum system, you can see the conversations happening in your groups. You can also find just the topics that mention your books.

RSS
I like how the RSS service consists of a list of items, which usually includes a headline, description, and a link to a web page which you view together in the same place. I have choose the following RSS feeds: Bloglines News (10) (0)
OPAL Training (10) (0)
Queensland public library news (10) (0)
ResourceShelf (10) (0)
The Shifted Librarian (10) (0)
State Library of Queensland media releases (10) (0)
State Library of Queensland website news (11)
and I also looking at adding some cooking feeds.

Social Networks
I think these social networks would be very useful for interest groups that attend the libraries, as sometimes members travel and it would give the members a way of keeping in touch with their group. They are a very useful tool for promoting conferences and events. I think the most effective social networking utility I have seen during the session was the UQ Library catalogue on Facebook, what a wonderful idea.
Wikis
With Wikis I found it very interesting that any information added to a wiki can be changed or deleted by "anyone". These sites can be quite useful when doing a quick web search for information, however as always we need to be careful as to who has presented this information.
I think Wikis would be very useful in libraries as procedure manuals, client feedback about the collection or the library environment and possibly as an online bookclubs.

Flickr
This post will be about Test Drive #2: Online Photo Sharing, I have uploaded by photo of my favourite flower eventhough the gerbra makes me sneeze. I live these flowers as my Nana has millions on them in her garden and they are a perfect shape.
This is a very useful site which enables libraries to share photos about their promotional activities.

Blog Experience
Today I will be able to go home and teach my 5 year old something new on the computer, as he is already an expert in putting holds on library items via the internet, searching google for Ben 10 games and using an ipods and phones.
I am very excited to be learning about the new techologies as I will be able to assist clients on the computers and offer other pieces of software to assist with their computer questions. It is a very exciting time for the library staff and clients who either use the library or who are thinking of utilising this wonderful information service.
